Detail itinerary;

9 days-Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake-Shigatse-Everest-Nepal Border

Day 01: Arrive in Lhasa by flight or train

Arrive at the train station (20km) or airport(60km) in Lhasa.  Our guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for acclimatization; you can have your free time hanging out in this holy city to get the first impression of Tibet.

Day 02: Lhasa (Jokhang Temple, Barkhor Square)

Morning visits the Jokhang temple is the most sacred temple in Tibet. In the Tibetan language, it refers to Buddha’s house. The most important statue is said to be made by Buddha Sakyamuni himself time. It was built in the 7th-century 32nd king Songtsen Gampo. The Jokhang temple is the convergence of Tibet’s spiritual and secular life. Here you can meet all kinds of tribes from the Tibetan plateau. The surrounding market is called Bakhore. One of the most important religious paths. Evening explores city by yourself.

Day 03: Lhasa (Ramoche Temple, Sera Monastery)

Morning visits to the Ramoche temple, It’s the sister temple to the Jokhang, which is completed about the same time. Tradition says that it was built originally to house the much revered Jowo Rinpoche statue, carried to Lhasa via Lhagang in a wooden cart, brought to Tibet when Princess Wencheng came to Lhasa.

Afternoon visits the Sera monastery. All the Gelugpa monasteries history is strongly connected to Master Lama Tsongkhapa (1357–1419), the founder of the Gelugpa order, the much venerated and highly learned guru in Buddhist scriptures. The Sera Monastery at the foot of Sera Uste Hill is located 2 kilometers north of Lhasa. It is one of the great three Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet.

Day 04: Lhasa (Potala Palace, Norbulingka)

Morning visits the Potala palace towers above the city of Lhasa as the national landmark that allures international visitors. The massive 13-storeyed building used to be the former abode for the Dalai lamas. It looks incredibly magnificent from a distance and can be viewed from various places around town. As the nation’s supreme relic, the palace dates back to the seventh century A.D.

Afternoon visits the Norbulingka summer palace, the former summer palace of Dalai Lamas built-in during the 18th century by seven Dalai lamas. Explore the beautiful gardens and experience one of the holiest sites in Tibetan Buddhism while soaking up the rich history.

Day 05: Lhasa-Yamdrok Lake-Gyantse

Following Friendship Highway, you drive past Khamba La at 4794 m with a brief halt to savor the majestic views of Yamdrok-tso Lake and Mt Najoin Khang sar rising at an elevation of 7252m. On turning westwards, you come across Karo La pass at 5045m. You can see huge glaciers tumbling down into the road. After hours of driving for 261 km, magnificently landscaped Tibetan villages become visible as you enter the town of Gyantse After Karola glacier you will reach Gyangtse former main Tibet trade center between Nepal, Indian, and Bhutan. and 1904 English Young Husband who first come to Tibet on 1904 and usually Gyantse is famous in wool and also a very good farming area in Tibet.

Day 06: Gyantse-Shigatse visit Tashi Lhunpo monastery

Morning visit Kumbum stupa and Phelchoe monastery Gyantse’s pride is the Gyantse Dzong and Kumbum. Gyantse Dzong is a historical fort built in the 14th century and overlooks a mesmerizing view of the entire Gyantse and surrounding Nyang Chu Valley. Kumbum has a large gold-domed stupa and houses several chapels and Tibetan Buddhist murals. After you enjoy exploring Gyantse, you will take a 90 km drive to Shigatse. Having driven to an altitude of 3900 meters, you find yourself at Shigatse, the second-largest city in Tibet.

Day 07: Shigatse-Sakya Monastery-Everest Base Camp

In the morning, drive to Sakya monastery and make an excursion to visit Sakya Monastery (4280m). Sakya Monastery is unique because of its medieval Mongolian architecture. Walk up the kora path alongside the monastery to see the ruins of the older buildings, from which you can see great views of the monastery and surrounding valley. After Stop lunch and at Lhatse you will have the first views of mighty Himalayans from the pass of Gyatso La(5400m) after Lhatse and a distant view of Mt. Everest from its viewing point soon after the climb down Gyatso la, shortly after the border checkpoint at Shegar, turn off the Friendship Highway and drive toward the south in the valley, cross over the Gawu la pass[5250m] through zigzags road, from the pass you will amaze the spectacular Himalayan Ranges and its mighty peaks beyond 8000m, Mt.Makalu(8463m), Mt.Lotse(8516m), Mt.Everest(8844m), Mt.Cho Oyu(8201m) and Mt.Shishapama(8020m) from Left to right, climbing down through numbers of switchback bends lead to the dry valley of Tashi Zom and then  Take eco bus to Everest Base Camp, finally the day’s destination – Everest Base Camp located in the Rongbuk valley. Rongbuk is the highest monastery in the world and it consists of both monks and nuns. We suggest you bring your sleeping bags for the night if available as the local tent guesthouses reuse the blankets for several weeks due to their poor facility. Overnight at local tent guesthouses except for the end of Oct-Mar where the tent guesthouses close and only Rongbuk monastery guesthouse is available.

Day 08: Everest Base Camp-Old Tingri -Kyirong border

Morning view of Everest sunrise and After breakfast you have an option to do a short trekking from the tent guesthouses community to E.B.C, it will take you about 2 hours or more per your physical condition (6Km). Or you can take the dedicated minibus instead. After that drive to Old Tingri 3hrs drive and view of Mt Everest and Mt.Cho Oyu(8201m. drive lower kyirong you can have a beautiful landscape and also nice view of Himalaya ranges Then gradually descend into a deep valley with a series of switchback bends. There are spectacular waterfalls on both sides of these fertile hills and with a decrease in altitude, the dry climate changes into a warm, moist environment and it is clear that we drawing into the Indian subcontinent. Day 09: Lower Kyirong -China custrom

Sino-Nepal Friendship Bridge, typical Nepalese villages and 2nd deepest Bungy Jump point in all of Asia. Today we drive down to the friendship bridge and our guide will help you to clear the China Customs, from there our Tibetan staff are not allowed stepping further and time to say your farewells. Before your departure, we will appreciate if you can spend a short time to evaluate our services either by filling the feedback form or simply send us an email. When you cross the China Nepal Friendship bridge you will pay 25$ to obtain Nepal Tourist Visa (15 days valid time), Then you can easily find jeeps and buses from the Nepalese border town to Kathmandu city.
