13days -Everest Base Camp trek

Tibet trek gives you a real taste of Tibetan highland adventure and an insight into Tibetan Buddhism. Interspersed with excursions to ancient monasteries, this trek is also recommended for the aficionado of Tibetan theology.

Trekking in Tibet offers you an altogether different experience. As you hike along the rugged Tibetan terrain, you will be greeted with sights so different and new: from the arid Tibetan topography that resembles a lunar landscape to the ancient villages with their colorful prayer flags and magnificent monasteries. As you traverse along the 80km trekking trail that skirts barley fields and nomadic pastureland, you get an opportunity to observe the Tibetan lifestyle at close quarters and experience the real Tibet.

    Day 01: Arrive at Lhasa

    Arrive at the train station (20km) or airport(60km) in Lhasa.  Our guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to the hotel for acclimatization; you can have your free time hanging out in this holy city to get the first impression of Tibet.

    Day 02: Lhasa-Jokhang temple -Barkhore square

    Morning visits the Jokhang temple is the most sacred temple in Tibet. In the Tibetan language, it refers to Buddha’s house. The most important statue is said to be made by Buddha Sakyamuni himself time. It was built in the 7th-century 32nd king Songtsen Gampo. The Jokhang temple is the convergence of Tibet’s spiritual and secular life. Here you can meet all kinds of tribes from the Tibetan plateau. The surrounding market is called Bakhore. One of the most important religious paths. Evening explores city by yourself.

    Day 03: Lhasa -Drepung monastery -Sera monastery

    Drepung monastery was founded in 1416 by a charismatic monk and disciple of Tsongkhapa called Jamyang Choji. Within just a year of the completion, the monastery had attracted a population of some 2000 monks. In 1530 the second Dalai lama established the Gaden Palace, the palace was home for the Dalai lamas until the fifth built the Potala Palace.  Drepung monastery is one of the biggest Gelugpa sect Buddhist monasteries in the Lhasa area

    Afternoon visits the Sera monastery. All the Gelugpa monasteries history is strongly connected to Master Lama Tsongkhapa (1357–1419), the founder of the Gelugpa order, the much venerated and highly learned guru in Buddhist scriptures. The Sera Monastery at the foot of Sera Uste Hill is located 2 kilometers north of Lhasa. It is one of the great three Gelukpa university monasteries of Tibet.

    Day 04: Lhasa-Potala palace-Norbulingka summer palace

    Morning visits the Potala palace towers above the city of Lhasa as the national landmark that allures international visitors. The massive 13-storeyed building used to be the former abode for the Dalai lamas. It looks incredibly magnificent from a distance and can be viewed from various places around town. As the nation’s supreme relic, the palace dates back to the seventh century A.D.

    Afternoon visits the Norbulingka summer palace, the former summer palace of Dalai Lamas built-in during the 18th century by seven Dalai lamas. Explore the beautiful gardens and experience one of the holiest sites in Tibetan Buddhism while soaking up the rich history.

    Day 05: Lhasa -Yamdrok lake-Karola glacier -Gyangste-Kumbum stupa & Phelchoe monastery -Shigatse(360km)

    Morning drive to Shigatse 60km from the friendship highway turn to Yamdrok lake ticket office and up to Kambala pass which is 4794m high. From the top of the pass Kangpa-la at 4700m in clear weather, you can see the fabulous shade of deep turquoise Yamdro-tso Lake that is shaped like a coiling scorpion with deep blue in color. Then drive along the mountain down to Gyangtse, visit the famous stupa – Gyangtse Kumpum, the most stunning architectural wonder in Tibet. After late lunch in Gyantse, we continue our drive to Shigatse city which is the second-largest city in Tibet.

    Day 06: Shigatse-New Tingri-Old Tingri(Camping)(310km)

    Visit Tashilunpo Monastery and the spectacular tombs of Panchen Lamas in Shigatse in the morning, then drive along Friendship Hwy to Old Tingri via Lhatse and Shegar Town. Your guide and driver as well as the cook will do preparations for the trek, while you may have a good view of Cho Oyu.

    Day 07: Trek to Lungthang(4510M)

    Our trekking begins from Old Tingri, goes through the Tingri plain. Trekking along part of the Ra-chu Valley, we will see the beautiful valley scenery with extensive meadows and groups of sheep and goats. The rest of the day we can visit a small gompa in Chholun. Tonight will be spent in a comfortable campsite in Lunthang. This bleak region is home only to herders and barley harvesters.  Camping

    Day 08: Trek to Lamna la(5150M)

    The challenging trekking starts today as we go up into the mountains. Much uphill walking is done as we climb towards the top of Lamna La. And we camp beyond the top of this pass. Camping at beyond Lamna la pass

    Day 09: Trek to Zommug(4790M)

    9HOURS/27KM/550M ASCENT/620M DESCENT

    In the morning we descend steeply into lush vegetation. The only other people we will encounter are yak herders and their families. Camp will be made in the small village of Zommug. Truly amazing views can be seen as the sun sets in this barren town.

    Day 10: Trek Rongbuk monastery (4980) and EBC(5200M)

    On our last day of trekking, we will wind our way to the end destination of Rongbuk and Everest Base Camp. Along the way, we can also visit the Dza Rongbuk monastery and gompas. They are truly ancient sites, but nothing compared to our night camping at Everest Base Camp.

    Day 11: Everest Base Camp-Lhatse-Shigatse(350km)

    We drive a short distance from Rongbuk to Lhatse, then follow the friendship highway back to Shigatse city. Have a good rest after the adventure above during which you may be really exhausted.

    Day 12: Shigatse-Lhasa(280km)

    We are returning to Lhasa after lunch. On the whole, way, what will be permanently impressive are unique Tibetan customs, the small valley of River Brahmaputra, and alpine scenery.

    Depart from Lhasa by air or by train. Airport or railway station dropping off, end tour.
