IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR TOURISTS TRAVELING ON A BUDGET
As of January 1st, 2016 the Tibet tourism office has imposed new regulations regarding traveling in Tibet. They have decided that, as of now, ALL tourists must travel in new vehicles. This means that older cars cannot be used any longer. Because of this decision, the minimum price per kilometer has increased dramatically. This means that it is becoming more and more difficult for BACKPACKERS and TRAVELERS ON A BUDGET to visit Tibet. Every price on the internet before 2016 that involves transportation by car, is outdated.
Since we have organized many trips for BUDGET TRAVELERS before, and continue wanting to do so, we have started offering the service of bringing travelers together to form a group. From the beginning of 2016, we will organize set dates with specific itineraries on which you can come along. By doing this, we aim to bring people together and make it possible to share a car and therefore cost. Day 01: Arrive at Lhasa train station or Lhasa airport

Arrival at train station or airport in Lhasa, our guide and driver will pick you up and transfer you to hotel for acclimatization; you can have your free time hanging out at this holy city to get the first impression of Tibet. (Overnight night in Lhasa)

Day 02: Lhasa-Jokhang temple-Barkhore square-Sera monastery
Morning visit the Jokhang temple. Jokhang temple is the most sacred temple in Tibet . In Tibetan language it refers to “Buddha’s house” because the main statue is said to be made by Buddha Sakyamuni himself time. The Jokhang temple is the convergence of Tibet’s spiritual and secular life. Here you can meet all kinds of tribes from the Tibetan plateau. The surrounding market is called “Bakhore”. One of the most important religious paths. Afternoon visit The Sera monastery is founded by Jamchen Chojey, one of Tsong Khapa’s disciples built the monastery in 1419. The monastery is magnificent and covers an area of 114,946 square meters. As a complex of structures, it housed several institutions in its precincts. The structures of notability were the Coqen Hall Tsokchen (Great Assembly Hall), the three colleges and Kamcun (dormitory) also called Homdong Kangtsang. Scriptures written in gold powder, fine statues, scent cloth and unparalleled murals can be found in these halls. Colorful debates on Buddhist doctrines are held here and these employ a style distinctive from those at Lhasa’s other famous monasteries(Overnight in Yak hotel 1 double room with included breakfast)
Day 03: Lhasa-Potala palace-Norbulingka summer palace
Morning visit The Potala palace towers above the city of Lhasa as the national landmark that allures the international visitors. The massive 13-storeyed building used to be the former abode for the Dalai lamas. It looks incredibly magnificent from a distance and could be viewed from various places around town. As the nation’s supreme relic, the palace dates back to the seventh century A.D. Afternoon visit the Norbulingka summer palace the former summer palace of Dalai Lama. Explore the beautiful gardens and experience one of the most holy sites in Tibetan Buddhism while soaking up the rich history. (Overnight in Yak hotel 1 double room with included breakfast)
Day 04: Lhasa-Yamdrok lake-Karola glacier-Gyangtse visit Kumbum stupa & Phelchoe monastery-Shigatse(360km)

The first day we drive westwards to Mt.Kailash will reach Shigatse, which is the second biggest city in Tibet. on the way to Shigatse, we will pass kangpa-la with 4794m, from the top of the pass in clear weather, we can see the Yamdrotso lake in fabulous shade of deep turquoise, Just a few kilometers’ driving through the shore of lake yamdrok-yutso reaches Nangartse county and is the largest town on the lake side. and stop luch at Nangartse town and after finished lunch drive toward Gyangste, after half hours you have to cross the 5050m karo-la pass with its awesome roadside views of the Nanchan- Kangtsang glacier. in Gyantse city, you will explore the Kubum Monastery which is the town’s foremost attraction. The 35m-high chorten(stupa) with its white layers trimmed with decorative stripes and its crown-like goldendome, is awe-inspiring. drive to Shigatse only 2 hrs drive(Overnight in Yak hotel in Shigatse 1 double room with included breakfast)
Day 05: Shigatse-Tashi Lhunpo monastery-Lhasa(280km)

The primary target today is the giant monastery in Shigatse city, (Tashilunpo Monastery), the preaching place of Panchen Lama who is the most prestigious Tibetan leader in vast Shigatse Prefecture. Tashilunpo Monastery is one of the four famous monasteries of Gelugpa Sect where travelers can look up at the tallest copper statue of (Great Figure of Buddha) with reverence. Memorial photos can be taken at the gate of the giant monastery. We are returning to Lhasa after lunch. On the whole way, what will be permanently impressive are unique Tibetan customs, the small valley of River Brahmaputra and alpine scenery.(Overnight in Lhasa Yak hotel 1 double room with included breakfast)
Day 06: Depart Lhasa
